Late summer in Davie is usually the quiet stretch. School hasn't started, the rodeo calendar has gone dark, and half the neighborhood is somewhere cooler. This year is different. Between August 1 and September 15, one three-mile section of South University Drive is picking up an inaugural town-wide prix-fixe program, a food-truck opening its first permanent kitchen, and a new second-story lounge concept, all within a fifteen-minute drive of one another.
If you already live here, that concentration matters more than any one opening on its own. It changes what a weeknight dinner looks like, and it gives you a reason to stop defaulting to the same three places.
Most of what is new in Davie this month lives on or immediately off South University Drive between Griffin Road and Nova Southeastern. Here's what's there now that wasn't the last time you drove it:

The last row is the tell. Restaurant supply houses don't open 47,000-square-foot outposts in markets where the operator count is flat. That store landing in Davie is a lagging indicator that the local food scene is expanding fast enough to sustain wholesale infrastructure right in town, rather than making chefs drive to Orlando or Jacksonville.
The Town's first-ever dining program runs August 1 through September 15, and it is longer, smaller, and structured differently than the Broward County programs residents may already know. Davie partnered with seven local restaurants (later expanded to eight) to create Savor Davie, a fixed-price multi-course meal program available from August 1 to September 15, 2026.
The pricing tiers are what make it worth reading past the headline. Every participating restaurant sets its three-course prix-fixe at $35, $45, or $60, and each tier tells you something about the kitchen:
Two practical notes the Town's own release makes explicit. Menu prices, hours of operation, and availability vary by location. Taxes and gratuities may not be included in the advertised menu price. And the multi-course meal is the total price charged; restaurants cannot add fees, surcharges, or upcharges, though taxes, gratuity, and beverages may be charged separately. Translation: your check will land within a couple of dollars of the menu number plus tax, tip, and whatever you drink. That's a rare piece of pricing clarity for a South Florida dining promotion.

The Colombian-burger operation that has followed South Florida's brewery and festival circuit since 2011 is opening its first fixed address on the same day Savor Davie begins.
After more than a decade building a following at festivals, breweries, and food truck events, Julio and Diana are opening their first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Davie on August 1, 2026. The restaurant brings the truck's Colombian burgers, Monster Dogs, and Monster Fries to a permanent kitchen. Address: 2325 S University Dr.
Two things are worth knowing before you show up. First, the menu extends past the burger. Monster Fries combine french fries, fried yellow potatoes, sliced sausages, and Monster Sauces into a shareable dish, and the Maicito, a Colombian street food that combines sweet corn, mozzarella, crushed potato chips, pineapple sauce, and cream sauce with optional chicken or bacon, is worth ordering when it's available. Second, the room is built for kids. Bright green walls, cartoon monster artwork, and an open kitchen create a family-friendly atmosphere.
If you've been driving past the truck for years, opening week is going to be the crowd of people who've been driving past it for years. Give it a few weeks if you'd rather sit down without a wait.
Golf Vault, a new golf simulator lounge from Chris Flores and Gil Martin, is targeting an end-of-June or July 1 opening at 4900 S. University Drive, Suite 205, in a roughly 4,000-square-foot second-floor location above Pinza 104. The concept combines golf simulators, lounge seating, food and drinks, and event space.
The second-floor detail is worth pausing on. South Florida's suburban retail strips historically wall off their upstairs suites for offices, gyms, and medical use, because parents don't take strollers up interior stairs and diners don't climb for a burger. A locally owned lounge concept taking Suite 205 signals a willingness to underwrite an "adult evening" tenant on space that would otherwise sit as a dermatology office. If it works, expect other second-floor retail suites in Davie's mid-corridor plazas to start converting.
For residents, the practical result is a new option on nights when a restaurant plus a couch at home feels like too little and a drive to downtown Fort Lauderdale feels like too much.
Savor Davie ends September 15. Three days earlier, the town's other identity comes back online. The Davie Pro Rodeo returns to Bergeron Rodeo Grounds on September 12, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.
If you have out-of-town family visiting the weekend of the 12th, the sequence writes itself. Prix-fixe dinner at Luc's, Ovivi's, or The Greek Joint on Friday. Rodeo Saturday night at 4271 Davie Road. If they've never seen a rodeo, they've certainly never seen one that ends with everyone eating brisket in the same parking lot they parked in.
Here's what the corridor makes possible on a single day this August that it did not make possible in July:
None of that itinerary existed on August 1 of last year. That is the shift. Not a single blockbuster opening, but a corridor thickening into something you can spend a full day inside without leaving a six-mile radius.
Because the shape of a neighborhood's calendar is one of the honest signals of how it's changing. When the Town launches its first dining program, when a food truck with fifteen years of goodwill picks Davie for its first door, when a locally owned lounge takes a second-floor lease, and when a national supply chain opens a 47,000-square-foot store just off I-595, the pattern isn't marketing. It's operators voting with capital that the customer base here can carry more than it used to.
